Meet Olivia Serrano – The Heart Behind TacOli
I’m Olivia, a proud Chilanga, born and raised in the vibrant streets of Mexico City, where food isn’t just nourishment; it’s love, memory, and celebration.
I grew up surrounded by flavors and traditions passed down through generations. Every dish told a story. Later, in Chiapas, I learned from las cocineras tradicionales, the true guardians of southern Mexican cuisine, who taught me to make tortillas by hand, slow-cook cochinito in a wood-fired oven, and respect every ingredient’s soul.
Years later, life brought me to Belgium — a new home that inspired me to blend my two worlds. I trained professionally at PIVA in Antwerp, earning certificates as a Sous-Chef, Pastry Chef, and Chocolatier. There, I discovered how Belgian precision and Mexican creativity could meet in perfect harmony from pralines with a spicy twist to pan dulce with European finesse.
That fusion of cultures gave birth to TacOli — a name that combines “Taco” and “Olivia.”
TacOli is more than a catering service; it’s a celebration of authentic Mexican flavors crafted with care, creativity, and deep respect for tradition.
Through every dish, I aim to bring the warmth, color, and joy of Mexico to Belgium sharing not just food, but stories, emotions, and a piece of my heart.
As we say back home:
“Barriga llena, corazón contento.”
A full belly, a happy heart.
